Mapping the Paths you Almost Travelled

Do you ever look at people and see a sliver of yourself? The crossover of what you could have been vs. who you became. Does it pull at different nerves? It's important to listen to which ones but don't let them get twisted.

Our lives are made up of all the turns we took. They show up as your outline, with quieter choices painting your background. But we're also stitched together by all those other paths we once considered, believed we would walk down, planned to hike til the end. The ones we started and turned back on.

No less valuable, no less a part of who we are, they are etched in our minds, the dirt is still on our shoes and walks with us on the one chosen path. Maybe we'll hop over to visit friends on theirs. Remember those trees, remember the feeling of excitement, dread, fear, love we once felt - it's painted on us.

Some of us get more freedom to choose our one path than others. Sometimes the choice can be confusing. You stumble, or just sit staring at the fork in the road, wishing you could see the future to help you decide. The selfie in your gallery at the end of each track.

But we don't get to predict the future. We just have to use all the signs that surround us to make our best judgement, choose the path that's right for you now. And use the map and the bag of tricks you've collected along the way to travel it, just like Dora. Vamonos!
