Mapping the Paths you Almost Travelled

Do you ever look at people and see a sliver of yourself? The crossover of what you could have been vs. who you became. Does it pull at different nerves? It's important to listen to which ones but don't let them get twisted. Our lives are made up of all the turns we took. They show up as your outline, with quieter choices painting your background. But we're also stitched together by all those other paths we once considered, believed we would walk down, planned to hike til the end. The ones we started and turned back on. No less valuable, no less a part of who we are, they are etched in our minds, the dirt is still on our shoes and walks with us on the one chosen path. Maybe we'll hop over to visit friends on theirs.
